Local Food Works sponsors day of DIY workshops on March 26

DEMING – Local Food Works is sponsoring a day of free do-it-yourself workshops on Saturday, March 26 at the Deming Library. The schedule will be: How to Save Your Own Seeds with the folks from Uprising Seeds from 10 a.m. to noon; Starting Seeds from the Ground Up with Local Food Works! from noon to 1 p.m. (materials are supplied); The ABC’s of Native Bees with Sonya Schaller from Whatcom Conservation District from 1 to 2 p.m. (participants may take home a Mason Bee house while quantities last); and Garden Planning and Problem Solving Session with Local Food Works! from 2 to 3 p.m. Funding is also provided by the Community Food  Co-op. Space is available on a first come first served basis. Local Food Works started in 2009 and is a non-profit food production organization based in Welcome Valley.  For more information, contact localfoodworks@aol.com.
