Skagit Valley Tulip Festival in April

SKAGIT – Every spring hundreds of thousands of people come to enjoy the celebration of spring as millions of tulips burst into bloom in the Skagit Valley. The annual festival is held from during the month of April (the tulips bloom according to Mother Nature) at various locations throughout Skagit County. A map of all 2011 locations and festivities is available online at Artist John Ebner created the image for the 2011 poster, available for sale on the Festival website.

Abbi Beuckman, a 4th grader at Conway Elementary, and Michael Mantell, a fifth grader from Fidalgo Elementary, were selected as the 2011 Key Bank Tulip Ambassadors from a field of 59 Skagit County students. Beuckman and Mantell will travel to Olympia on March 18 to meet the governor and other elected officials, and will preside at the PACCAR Open House and meet festival sponsors at the Gala Celebration on March 31.
