Whatcom tree, plant sales coming up

Mar 12th, 2011 | Category: News

WHATCOM – Two local organizations are planning plant sales in March. The Whatcom Farm Forestry Association will hold their annual tree sale on Saturday, March 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Henry Jansen Agricultural Center of the Lynden Fairgrounds. A variety of trees will be sold for 85 cents each. The Whatcom Conservation District will hold their 18th annual plant sale on Saturday, March 19. The purpose of the WCD’s annual plant sale is to promote the stewardship and conservation of natural resources. The plants sold at this sale are “conservation grade”, which means they are graded on their ability to survive, not on their ornamental value. The sale will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the campus of Whatcom Community College in Bellingham.
