ORCAS ISLAND – The 1st Annual Orcas Island Cider and Mead Festival will be held Saturday, May 14 at the Farmer’s Market grounds, featuring up to 10 Washington cider and mead producers vying for first place. Producers include Finnriver, Wescott Bay, Red Barn, River Sky Brewing and Tieton Cider Works. The event is being hosted by Ray’s Pharmacy, with all proceeds benefiting the non-profit Orcas Island Educational Foundation for their Farm-to-Cafeteria program. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and includes product sampling and meeting the cider producers. Judges will award first, second and third place prizes.
