Cultivating Success course available

WHATCOM – The Cultivating Success course “Sustainable Small Acreage Farming” through Washington State University Whatcom County Extension will again be offered this fall. The class provides an overview of potential small acreage farming and ranching enterprises and production systems. Topics covered include sustainable farming practices, whole farm planning, direct marketing, integrated pest management, soil management, and more. Connections with local farmers and community resource people will be developed through guest lectures and farm field trips. Class will be held Tuesday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. in Bellingham, from Sept. 20 through Nov. 29. The course fee is $250.
