EVERETT – The Washington State Department of Agriculture is holding a series of Harvest Against Hunger Area Summits where farmers, processors, packers and hunger relief organizations can share ideas and insights about ways to effectively work together to alleviate hunger in communities. Using funds from the WSDA Specialty Crop Block Grant, Harvest Against Hunger Area Summits are the result of a partnership between the Washington State Department of Agriculture, Rotary First Harvest and the Washington Food Coalition. The Everett Summit will be held Jan. 20 at the Hansen Conference Center in Everett. Other locations include the Yakima Summit on Jan. 6 at the Yakima Valley Sun Dome, and the Olympia Summit on Feb. 2 at the United Churches of Olympia. Registration is free.
