Clean Green opens for the season

BELLINGHAM – The Clean Green Transfer Station opens for the season on Saturday, March 3. Residents of Whatcom County can drop off residential yard waste for $4 per load on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Items accepted at Clean Green include grass clippings, garden trimmings, limbs (8 inches or less in diameter and less than 7 feet in length), vines, leaves and other vegetation. The yard waste is turned into compost. Contractor or commercial loads, rocks, garbage, roots or root balls, lumber, construction or land-clearing debris, hazardous materials and sod are not accepted at Clean Green.
