Farm management workshop set for women farmers, food artisans

BOW – A farm management workshop for women farmers and farm-based food artisans will be held Thursday, Dec. 6 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Bow Hill Blueberries. Jodi Slavik, an employment attorney, will discuss hiring practices, job descriptions, and what to look for in candidates. Information about farm internships will be presented by Susan Soltes, Skagit FIELD Program Coordinator (also of Bow Hill Blueberries), and Sarita Schaffer, WSU Small Farms and GrowFood.org (and of Viva Farms), who will discuss how to legally host farm interns and the current Small Farm Internship Bill.
