Teach a Friend to Homebrew Day Nov. 3 & 11; annual Cup entries welcome

COUNTIES – The American Homebrewers Association’s 14th Annual Learn to Homebrew Day will be held at different locations on Saturdays, Nov. 3 and Nov. 11. This event brings experienced homebrewers side-by-side and answer questions on their techniques and results. Participants can observe the brewing process, start to finish, and see how variations create different beers. The public is welcome to attend the event on Nov. 3 at Down Home Brew Supply in Arlington from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and in Mount Vernon at North Sound Brewing from noon to 6 p.m. On Saturday, Nov. 11, participants can go to North Corner Brewing in Bellingham from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and North West Brewers Supply in Anacortes from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In other homebrewing news, the 4th annual Washington Mead & Cider Cup, sponsored by the Greater Everett Brewer’s League on behalf of the Washington Homebrewers Association, is acceptng entries for homebrewed meads, ciders, and perries. This is a Washington Homebrewer of the Year Qualifier. Online registration opens Friday, Nov. 9 and closes Friday, Dec. 7. Entries are accepted Monday, Nov. 26 through Friday, Dec. 7. The entry fee is $7 and requires two 10-12 ounce bottles. Entries can be dropped off at Down Home Brew Supply in Arlington, Homebrew Heaven in Everett, or Whidbey Island Homebrew Supply in Oak Harbor.
