Agricultural entrepreneurship, business planning course starts Feb. 5

WHATCOM – The Agricultural Entrepreneurship and Business Planning course offering by the Whatcom County Extension for sustainable small farmers in Whatcom County will start Feb. 5. In this 8 class series, participants will learn how to take care of a business including covering topics including developing an innovative marketing concept and strategy, evaluating their financial plan, and legal and tax implications of decisions that may be made. Students will leave the class with a business plan they have developed. Guest speakers include local business and financial experts, legal experts, and small business counselors, as well as successful local farmers. The course will be held Tuesday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. at the WSU Whatcom County Extension in Bellingham, starting Feb. 5, as well as one Saturday workshop.
