Sep 5th, 2013 | Category: News

WHATCOM – An ordinance to allow packinghouses in the Agriculture Zoning District will be the subject of another public hearing on Tuesday, Sept. 10, according to the Whatcom County Planning Department. The Whatcom County Council last held a public hearing Tuesday, July 23 and took over two hours of public comments about the zoning amendment. The Council voted to hold another public hearing, and agreed to change the maximum allowed size of a packinghouse from 30,000 to 20,000 square feet; those under 7,000 square feet would not require a public hearing. The Council meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Whatcom County Courthouse at  311 Grand Ave. in Bellingham.
