Taste Washington Day: Farms sought to sell food to local schools

Sep 10th, 2013 | Category: News

STATE – The WSDA Farm-to-School Program and the Washington School Nutrition Association (WSNA) partner to sponsor Taste Washington Day, an annual celebration of Washington grown foods served in school meals. Schools connect with local farms to serve locally sourced food and use Taste Washington Day to launch into October’s “Farm to School Month”. Additional farms are sought to participate in the event, and WSDA will provide support to match up farms and schools and help facilitate the purchasing process. For more information, to be listed as a participating farm, or to get help linking to your local schools, contact Acacia Larson at alarson@agr.wa.gov or (206) 256-6150.
