Beyond the basics: Growing Groceries 2014 advanced training coming up

EVERETT – The WSU Snohomish County Extension Growing Groceries program will hold an advanced training for food gardeners looking to expand their knowledge beyond the basics. The training costs $25 per person and takes place Saturday, Jan. 18 from 10 am. to 2 p.m. at WSU Snohomish County Extension’s Cougar Auditorium in McCollum Park, 600 128th St SE, Everett. Topics to be covered include: Growing Heirloom Vegetables with Carol Bello, Master Gardener; Pest Prevention Techniques with Sharon Collman, Extension Horticulturist; What Varieties Grow Best in My Garden, panel discussion with Growing Groceries mentors; and How to Conduct Your Own Variety Trials with Sharon Collman, Extension Horticulturist. Participants should bring a brown bag lunch.
