Farm to Table Trade Meeting coming

BELLINGHAM – The NW Washington Farm to Table Trade Meeting will be held Monday, Feb. 17 at the St. Luke’s Community Health Education Center in Bellingham. The meeting provides a day-long conference for farmers, buyers, producers, distributors and others to meet and connect, as well as one-on-one consultations, panel discussions and lunch. The Keynote Speaker Series will share perspective of the Northwest industry, from Anna Martin of Osprey Hill Farm, Joy Rubey of Acme Farms + Kitchen, and Mataio Gillis of Ciao Thyme,  and others. The Chefs Collaborative roundtable includes Gillis, Josh Silverman of Dashi Noodle Bar, Roy Brieman of Semiahmoo Resort and Seattle Chefs Collaborative. Dave Sands of the Community Food Co-op, and Diane Dempster of Charlie’s Produce will speak about “Growing, Distribution and Buying for a Wholesale Market.”  The panelists discussing “What’s Next with Distribution and Processing in NW Washington”  are Cheryl Thornton of Cloud Mountain Farm Center, Susan Soltes of Bow Hill Blueberries and North Sound Food Hub,  and Fred Berman of the Northwest Agriculture Business Center. The meeting will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Registration is open now. The cost is $50 for a Trade Table, including one registration.
