Field to Flame fundraiser: Seven chefs, seven courses, over a dozen farmers

Aug 1st, 2015 | Category: News

Bellingham – Sustainable Connections and the Northwest Washington Chefs Collaborative present their first-ever Field to Flame Brunch, a seven-course fundraiser featuring seven local chefs and over a dozen local farmers in the beautiful park setting at Boxx Weddings in Ferndale.

Local farmers and fishers will be providing the freshest and the best ingredients. This fundraiser will help to grow the Northwest Washington Chefs Collaborative’s work in building relationships through farmer/chef mentorships and chefs education in schools. Funds raised will also allow Sustainable Connections’ Food to Bank On program to continue dedicated education, support and training to new farmers.

Local chefs include Mataio Gillis of Ciao Thyme, Josh Silverman, previously of Dashi Noodle Bar and Nimbus, Will Annett of  Pizza’zza, Mica Christensen of Keenan’s on the Pier, Patrick Durgan from Western Washington University, Gabriel Claycamp of Jack Mountain Meats, and Arlené Mantha of 250 Flora. In addition, attendees can enjoy live music, lawn games, a silent auction, specialty drinks, and fresh pressed juice.

Boxx Weddings, located behind Boxx Berry Farm on Northwest Road, is providing the location.

Tickets are on sale now and individual seats are available for $75 before Aug. 6. Tables can be reserved for $550 and seat eight people. Sponsorships for the event are also available.
