Thanks for the memories! May 2010-March 2020

Get the local dirt in our northwest corner

Thanks for the memories: May 2010-March 2020

Sep 2nd, 2020 | Category: Features

We sure miss you! Grow Northwest has been on “hiatus” since April 2020 and we had hoped we would be able to resume at some point. Sadly, it is time to share the news that Grow Northwest will no longer be publishing print editions. This was an incredibly difficult decision to make. Our publication was already struggling pre-COVID, and now, it is not possible to operate given the current market and circumstances.

As a family-owned, independent publication, it is heartbreaking to share this with you. Grow is community work that we truly love, and has been a part of our lives for years. There’s so much to say, so much we miss, so much we haven’t finished. Since we launched from our kitchen table back in May 2010, Grow has always operated on a very small budget, and we are very thankful for the local businesses who advertised in our pages as well as the subscriptions and small donations from residents. We made it work, feeling the value is in serving the community, sharing and promoting local information and simpler, practical living.

Moving forward, we are keeping the mission of Grow Northwest at heart, and hope some day we can to resume if and when the market agrees to do so.

Whatever happens and whatever comes, we thank you for being a part of Grow Northwest. We had a good run and enjoyed producing each and every issue (May 2010-March 2020). Many, many thanks to all in the community who supported Grow – the local businesses, organizations, writers, photographers, helpers, residents, and readers. Grow wouldn’t have happened without you. You’re all amazing.

We are forever grateful for this work and what we’ve done together. It was honor to put you in print. Thank you for the memories.

Happy growing,
Becca

This may be one of our community’s greatest COVID losses. Thank you for the years of education, inspiration and resources. I hope that you can find your way back. You s we I’ll be missed.

    Hi Becca,
I’m sorry to hear of the stoppage of your paper publications. I was wondering about your newspaper boxes in downtown Bellingham. I wasn’t sure if they had been picked up or if I should round them up and take care of them myself. I take care of all the landscaping and sidewalks downtown and would like to make sure if there are any left that we can deal with them in the best way possible. Thank you and good luck with the online version in the future,
    Kenny Austin
